The Duck on His Travels Again!

After a spell in the UK, watching the snow outside ... and the rain ... and the clouds ... it's time to travel again! The first stop? A Starbucks in Cyprus!

About the Ducks

The traveling rubber ducks started in 2008 after my youngest son chose a rubber duck for me as one of my Christmas presents. It traveled everywhere my partner David and I did - Portugal, Gran Canaria, Cyprus ... And I would take pictures for my kids.

Then they outgrew the ducks, but some of my friends thought it was still a fun idea so I carried on.

But then I had grandchildren!

I started taking pictures on my iPhone of the same duck my son had bought me and used an app to have postcards printed and sent to my two granddaughters and my grandson. Since they live in the US and we live in the U.K., it has been a bit of fun and a way for Nan and Papa Dave to stay in touch, with a geography lesson thrown in.

Last year I asked my then four year old granddaughter Elyzabeth what she thought of the postcards. She said she likes them but she wants to see different ducks.

And in May 2017, an American lad who saw me taking pictures of the ducks in Lindisfarne said I should put them on the internet. My Facebook friends and family agreed.

So here we are.
